The board shall adopt rules to prescribe the following minimum continuing education requirements for the renewal of the following certificates:
- Practical technologist in podiatry, 2 hours every 2 years.
- Practical technologist in radiology, 6 hours every 2 years.
- Practical technologist in bone densitometry, 1 hour every 2 years.
- Unlimited practical technologist in radiology, 24 hours every 2 years.
- Nuclear medicine technologist, 24 hours every 2 years.
Arkansas
Arkansas Radiology CEU
All licensees are required to obtain six hours of continuing education which must be acquired within the year preceding the date of renewal.
Three of the six hours must be in the Radiologic Sciences, in the core areas of all licenses such as radiation protection, equipment operation and maintenance, image production and evaluation, patient care and management and radiopharmaceuticals. The other three hours may be in other areas related to health care.

- Radiography – 24 hours in two-year period, 4 of which shall be in digital radiography
- Limited – 24 hours in two-year period, 4 of which shall be in digital radiography
- Mammography – 24 hours in two-year period: 10 of which must be in mammography
- Certified Supervisors and Operators – 10 hours in two-year period
- Fluoroscopy — 4 hours in radiation safety in two-year period
- Fluoroscopy Certified Supervisors and Operators – 10 hours in two-year period, 4 of which shall be in radiation safety
In California radiology CE courses must be in subjects related to the application of X-ray to the human body, which may include X-ray administration, X-ray management, X-ray pathology, X-ray diagnosis and X-ray quality control. However, subjects in MRI, Ultrasound, CPR, or other topics not related to the application of X-rays to the human body cannot be accepted.

FLORIDA LICENSE REQUIREMENTS FOR RADIOLOGY PROFESSIONALS:
Mandatory 12 hours in two-year period; Nine hours must be technical, only three hours can be personal development.
A Technical course is any course that sounds technical in nature, such as Radiographic Pathology, Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology, etc.
A Personal Development course is any course that sounds personal in nature, such as Managing Stress at Work, Cultural Assessment, etc.
Credits must be completed at least 30 days prior to license renewal for electronic renewal.
We are no longer able to upload clients’ certificates of completion to the state of Florida, so you will need to submit them yourselves.
You may submit your radiology CE credits to the State at: mqaonlineservice@flhealth.gov, or fax the certificate to: 850-245-4791, or you can upload the CE Certificate with your renewal application at www.flhealthsource.gov.

Continuing Education Requirements.
- CEUs must be obtained through a provider approved by the Department. All licensees are required to obtain a minimum of 24 CEUs during each two-year license renewal cycle. Individuals licensed as a Radiologist Assistant or a Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associate are required to obtain a minimum of 50 CEUs during each two-year license renewal cycle.
- For individuals licensed in one discipline:
- ten CEUs must be in the discipline in which the individual is licensed;
- two CEUs must be in radiation safety; and
- the remaining 12 CEUs must be earned in topics directly related to health care practice, radiation safety, or their specialty.
- For individuals licensed in two or more disciplines:
- four CEUs must be in each discipline in which the individual is licensed;
- two CEUs must be in radiation safety, and the remaining CEUs must be earned in topics directly related to health care practice, radiation safety, or their specialty.
- For individuals licensed as Mammography Radiologic Technologists, 12 CEUs must be in Mammography, two CEUs must be in radiation safety, four CEUs in Radiography, and the remaining CEUs must be in topics directly related to health care practice, radiation safety, Radiography or Mammography.
- For individuals licensed as a Radiologist Assistant, 50 CEUs must be included in the ARRT’s Continuing Education Requirements, including two in radiation safety.
- For individuals licensed as a Nuclear Medicine Advanced Associate, 50 CEUs must be included in the NMTCB’s Continuing Education Requirements, including two in radiation safety.

ARRT® Certification Content Requirements for all Texas radiology continuing education credit:
At least 50% of the required number of hours must be activities which are directly related to the use and application of ionizing forms of radiation to produce diagnostic images and/or administer treatment to human beings for medical purposes.
No more than 50% of the required number of hours may be satisfied by activities which are indirectly related to the use and application of non-ionizing forms of radiation for medical purposes.
Direct credits are defined as: …”activities which are directly related to the use and application of ionizing forms of radiation to produce diagnostic images and/or administer treatment to human beings for medical purposes. For the purpose of this section, directly related topics include, but are not limited to: radiation safety, radiation biology and radiation physics; anatomical positioning; radiographic exposure technique; radiological exposure technique; emerging imaging modality study; patient care associated with a radiologic procedure; radio-pharmaceutics, pharmaceutics, and contrast media application; computer function and application in radiology; mammography applications; nuclear medicine application; and radiation therapy applications.”
Indirect credits are defined as: …”indirectly related topics include, but are not limited to, patient care, computer science, computer literacy, introduction to computers or computer software, physics, human behavioral sciences, mathematics, communication skills, public speaking, technical writing, management, administration, accounting, ethics, adult education, medical sciences, and health sciences. Other courses may be accepted for credit provided there is a demonstrated benefit to patient care.”
